For more than 35 years, Dr. Clayton McCarl has provided exceptional dental care to residents near Mitchellville. Following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and uncle – all of whom were dentists – he started as a dental assistant while in high school as well as helping out with front desk duties.
He attended Western Maryland College and the University of Maryland, College Park before completing his dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He has extensive training in dental implants and smile enhancement, and he is a charter member of the Triple Crown Study Club and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Clatyon is also an active member of the American Dental Association and the Maryland State Dental.
When he’s not busy working alongside family members and partner dentists, he and his wife, Lisa, spend time with their three adult children and “perfect” grandchildren. His daughter, Ashley, serves as one of our hygienists! You’ll also find him exercising, traveling, and supporting the Maryland Terrapins and Baltimore Ravens.

As part of the McCarl Dental Group for more than 25 years, she started here when she was only 15 years old. Working as a dental assistant, she discovered her passion, which led her to pursue dentistry as a career.
Completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, she attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry where she earned her dental degree. Since that time, she has become certified in Invisalign and cone beam 3D imaging. She is also experienced in performing guided dental implant surgeries.
Her professional memberships include the Academy of General Dentistry, the Triple Crown Study Club and The Maryland State Dental Association. Dr. Lee is pursuing additional training and education with the Seattle Study Club continuing education program throughout the year.
Dr. Dianna Lee is an avid sports fan and enjoys her free time cheering on the Terps and spending time with her family.

This opportunity to change lives stems from his own experience growing up. Dr. Duarte’s family is from Honduras; however, he was born in the United States. During his youth, he required a lot of orthodontic work. Spending much of his time in a treatment chair and getting to know his dentist, he discovered how impactful dentistry could be. The personal interactions and positive impact on patients’ smiles led him to work as a dental assistant in high school. He then completed his dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry before also completing a one-year residency in Advanced General Dentistry from NYU Langone.
Since completing his studies, he has become a member of the Seattle Study Club and Spear Education. He attends monthly lectures to stay abreast of the latest advancements and research in dentistry and pursues continuing education courses that allow him to hone his skills. He is certified in Invisalign and in cone beam 3D imaging, which he uses for his guided implant surgeries.

Dr. Duarte’s life outside of the office includes spending time with his wife, Claire, and their two children, Brooke and Grant. You’ll often find him outdoors and trying out new eateries around town.
As a dentist near Mitchellville, Dr. Tommy Lam finds it rewarding to help patients experience a pain-free, beautiful, and healthy smile. The positive reactions he receives from those who entrust him with their smile are what continue to motivate him to provide exceptional service and care.
Being able to build personal connections with others is part of why he originally chose to enter dentistry. His interest in science and being able to work with his hands also led him to discover that this type of healthcare is exactly where he wanted to be.
Earning his dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, he completed an implant clerkship while in dental school, earning him multiple awards in implantology.
After graduation, he completed a residency at the Baltimore Veteran Affairs Hospital, undergoing training in endodontic, restorative, prosthodontic, and implant dentistry. Dr. Lam also has experience in sedation dentistry, is a certified Invisalign provider, can provide same-day dental crowns, and performs guided dental implant placement surgery.
He and his wife have two children, Mason and Addison, and you’ll often find him spending quality time with his family. He also enjoys playing and watching sports (i.e., basketball, football, and golf) as well as swimming and riding his Peloton.
